Verizon Wireles, joined by none others than MTV Networks and Real Networks’ Raphsody have announced today the launch of the V Cast Music with Rhapsody service. Their goal is to "unlimited monthly access to music on up to three Rhapsody-compatible mobile phones and players and online on multiple PCs and Web browsers, for about the cost of a single CD."
In order to have access to Rhapsody’s 5 million songs you will have to pay a monthly subscription of $14.99. Individual song purchases are also available but you’ll get just 15 songs for the same price. That’s $0.99 a song if you download it on your PC while over the air downloads are priced at $1.99 a song.
You will need one of the following devices in order to power up your V Cast Music with Rhapsody subscription: LG Decoy, LG Dare, Motorola W755, Samsung SCH-U550, Samsung Glyde and Samsung Juke. Verizon customers that own a Motorola RIZRTM Z6tv , a Motorola RAZR2 V9m or a LG VX8700 will get a free software upgrade in any Verizon store if they want the V Cast Music.
Not necessarily a must have plan but it’s good to know there’s an alternative to iTunes right?
